Overview:
The Director of Power is responsible for leading utility coordination and power infrastructure delivery for data center development projects. Acting as a technical lead and owner’s representative, this role works directly with utilities, transmission operators, engineers, and project teams to support the delivery of reliable electrical infrastructure for hyperscale and mission critical facilities.
The Director of Power focuses on managing the utility engagement and interconnection process required to secure power for large-scale data center campuses, including coordination of transmission infrastructure, substations, and utility service agreements.
This role works closely with internal development, preconstruction, design oversight, and construction management teams to ensure that power infrastructure requirements are clearly defined, utility timelines are tracked, and electrical infrastructure is delivered in alignment with overall project schedules.
The ideal candidate has strong experience working with utilities and supporting large electrical loads such as data centers, industrial facilities, or other high-demand infrastructure.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of experience working with utilities, electrical infrastructure, or large-load interconnection projects.
- Experience supporting large power demand customers such as data centers, industrial facilities, or major infrastructure developments.
- Strong familiarity with utility processes, interconnection studies, and electrical infrastructure planning.
- Experience coordinating with utilities, engineers, and infrastructure providers on complex projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across several stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
